Supported Living for Families

The Woodbridge Family Centre’s service is rooted in multi-cultural values. It is transformational and non-discriminatory, we ensure that the family is central to everything we do, irrespective of disability, race, culture, religion, gender or ethnic background.

The Woodbridge Family Centre Supported Living Service is a non-assessment provision that is not subject to Ofsted nor CQC regulations.

The Woodbridge Family Centre Supported Living Service (SLS) aims to provide a safe and secure home environment for families that may be experiencing housing issues, crisis or issues in relation to seeking asylum and families who have completed a parental capacity assessment or expectant parents who the referring Authority feel need additional support in the community. We endeavour to promote positive relationships between families and local community service provisions. We are proud of our dedicated professionals who help to develop service user skills and support them with a range of issues such independent living, money management, benefits, careers advice etc.

OUR SUPPORTED LIVING

The Woodbridge Family Centre SLS focusses on providing accommodation and support to families that have low level safeguarding concerns, may have no recourse to public funding or access to appropriate housing.

Our SLS support to families operates between 09:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday however where required, this support is enhanced by our in-house support worker service that will provide sleep-in/ out-of-hours support during the night and evenings and throughout the weekend if required.

Our semi-independent accommodation, located practically, is available for use by single or a large families. The accommodation is a lovely and homely 4 bedroomed terraced property. On the ground floor are the kitchen, lounge, dining room and cloakroom. On the first floor are 3 good-sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. The accommodation area consists predominantly of terraced housing. There are numerous health services located within proximity to the property. The nearest doctors/GP surgery is approximately 0.8 miles away. The residents have access to wi-fi for the use of accessing education, social activities, job seeking, maintaining social networks and recreation etc. The accommodation has CCTV in all communal area for added security.

We take great pride in ensuring that families have a safe, decent and stable place to call home from which to build the skills they need to progress to full independence.

Keyworkers aim to:

• Prepare families to live independently by offering support and getting them involved with their new accommodation, local community services and environment.
• Provide 24/7 integrated supervised accommodation with personalised support to achieve better outcomes for families.
• Implement and organise a keywork plan for families. Provide positive outcomes for families by meeting their own goals, personal needs and aspirations.
• Help families improve their basic skills and interpersonal communication skills by working with their appointed keyworker.
• Support families with accessing education, training and employment opportunities by working closely with colleges, prospective employers and educational institutions.
• Support families with their development of emotional and social wellbeing by referring them to and working closely with specialist teams.
• Work in partnership with LocalAuthorities, housing departments and the Home Office to support families that have No Recourse to Public Funds.
